This was my last foray into baked goods in Portland. For dinner at my parents' house, I made an apple pie that was baked on the grill. You have to cover it in a paper bag, otherwise it dries out too much, I guess.
I was hoping that the smoky flavor would make it really awesome, but I think it was mostly weird. Other people liked it, however, and it was gone shortly after its creation. Must have vanilla ice cream to accompany, preferably vanilla bean over french/freedom vanilla.
I did make blueberry muffins yesterday, with the blueberries that Jane picked on a farm out in Maryland. They were pretty good; I had one for breakfast this morning. Yum.
